Most of us have the entirely wrong idea about what sacrifice was for in the Old Testament, and this skews our view of the gospel, since we fundamentally misunderstand the problem the gospel “solves,” and how sacrifice is related to it.
So this podcast episode is a bit nerdy and quite involved, so it’s a bit too much for our regular podcast feed. We talk with Gravity podcast regular Mako Nagasawa and our friend Grant Eckhart, a pastor in Columbus, Ohio, about what they’ve learned about what’s actually going on in how ancient peoples thought about sacrifice and holiness.
All this so we can better understand what the Old Testament is getting at when it talks about sacrifices, so that we can better understand the “sacrifice” themes of the gospel. So, for the sake of learning to preach a better gospel, we encourage you try and wrap your mind around these new learnings about Old Testament sacrifice! Enjoy!
