We talk with Dr. Kristin Kobes Du Mez about one of our top books of 2020, Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation. (Whew that subtitle!)
Kristin reflects on how the book was conceived, why it was so hard to write, why it took her 15 years to write (!!), and what has surprised her most about the feedback she’s received since its publication.
Du Mez is a Professor of History at Calvin University. Her research areas focus on the intersections of gender, religion, and politics in recent American history. You can find more of her publications and resources on her website, and you can connect with her on Twitter.
