Many of us have a complicated relationship with our body. Some of us feel ashamed of our bodies. Some of our bodies are riddled with stress, pain, and trauma. Racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, etc. have told some of us that we don’t have the right kind of body.
Psychologist and researcher Hillary McBride join us to explore the themes of her new book The Wisdom of Your Body: Finding Healing, Wholeness, and Connection through Embodied Living. Hillary helps us see the broken and unhealthy ideas we have inherited about our body, how the Christian tradition, despite popular assumptions, actually affirms the value of our bodies, and how our bodies can become a place we feel at home and alive, and the seat of our spirituality and wisdom.
