Brian Zahnd joins us on the podcast today to talk about some of the profound theological shifts he’s gone through in the past few years, especially with regard to atonement theories (*wink wink*), and how to navigate that kind of journey without shipwrecking your life or blowing up your church.
We ask him for some practical advice for leaders who are going through theological paradigm shifts, but aren’t sure how to talk about it with the people they’re leading. This is really helpful stuff.

So, as always, you guys literally challenged the snot out of me. I’m so excited to hear you giving language to the feelings I’ve been experiencing for years now. I see the frustration fading and a new way of living dawning. And by the way, I just ordered Brian’s book–paperback of course because I’m cheap. Looking forward to diving in. God bless you all.
Great! Thanks Mo.
I’ve just discovered you via Eden Jersak whom I don’t know, but I met Brad at a conference a few months ago. Eden’s recent YouTube mentioned Brian, so I started looking around. I’m so excited to know there’s a whole congregation of similarly-minded people in the South! Not sure Missouri is technically the South, but it’s close enough. I’m new on this journey of theological change, but it resonates with my soul in ways for which I don’t have words; or maybe I do – it’s like freedom. It doesn’t last too long, because the old messages from another place and time step in to warn me not to feel overly happy. I know that’s weird. Anyway, I’m so excited to have found you!!
So glad to hear that the podcast was helpful for you, Vicki. Brian‘s forthrightness about his journey has certainly been helpful for us as well. 🙂 by the way, if you subscribe to our podcast, we have a lot of conversations like this every week 🙂
